- Formula (made from cows milk) is more difficult to digest than breast milk, therefore it stays put in that tummy a little longer than breast milk does. This gives the baby a fuller more satisfied feeling that can last several hours, making the time between feedings longer. A nursing baby may seem like they are constantly attached to your breast due to their ability to digest their meals quicker (making meal times every 2 - 3 hours in the beginning vs. maybe 3 - 4 hours for a formula fed baby).
- There's no guessing game at how much your baby is eating. Nursing moms frequently worry that their baby isn't getting enough to eat because they aren't able to actually measure out the intake. Formula feeding moms don't have to worry about this.
- There is a little more freedom when formula feeding vs. breastfeeding. Its easier to leave your baby with a sitter and some formula (though, if the breastfeeding mom is pumping, she too has freedom).
- Someone else is able to get up with the baby in the night when you formula feed (though, once again, a breastfeeding mom can have this same option if she chooses to pump). This can be beneficial if the father would like to be more involved in the feedings.
- Your wardrobe is unchanged. A nursing mother is usually having to wear easy access clothes.
- More birth control options.
- Less dietary restrictions and demands.
- No one will blink an eye at a formula feeding mother. A nursing mother may encounter quite a few "looks" when she chooses to breastfeed in public.

Formula Feeding Benefits
While there are lots of reasons to breastfeed and even more benefits, there are some very good reasons to formula feed as well.
